1. I just
secured a publishing deal with LoveCat Music out of New York. I am really excited to announce
that LoveCat Music, Recording Label and Publishing Company, will be
representing the four tracks on “The Loft Nine Project EP.” Basically,
they will be shopping my music for placement in television, film, video
games, or commercials. They have placed music in many shows and films,
such as Desperate Housewives, The Sopranos, West Wing, Sex and The
City, The OC, Training Day, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Alias.
2.
My music is now available for digital download at stores such as
Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, and iTunes! Check out the itunes link above
and see what you think. If you like what you hear, the four song EP is
only $3.96 to download … so help a brother out.
3. American
Idol… so everyone has been asking me about this. Well, on a whim a
showed up at the Kansas City auditions for Season 8 of AI. I found out
that it was going to be in KC literally a week before… so I said, “Fuck
it, let’s do this.” (I don’t even watch the show … honestly). Well, I
showed up, along with 15,000 other diluted dreamers and sang my version
of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.” Well they loved it, and I made the
first cut (130 or so of us out of 15,000). I didn’t really know that
were so many damn rounds! Did you?
Anyway, I got the call back
for round 2 and performed the same song again. I got even better
reviews this time around, so they enthusiastically sent me to round 3
to sing for the executive producers of the show. This fat English guy
did not feel the same way about my performance (I was too loud …
really!?), so I politely said “thank you,” then proceeded to the exit
where I had to do an interview in front of the TV camera about how my
one and only dream to be an American Idol was ruined !!! (Sarcasm)
Whatever, it was actually a fun experience, and there were a ton of
talented singers that got axed before me, so I don’t feel too bad. I
probably will not watch the upcoming season, however.
4. I
recently performed a live acoustic session at a St. Louis radio station
called iChannel. This station has been supporting independent music
from around the world for around three years now. The DJ's and staff
have been especially helpful in getting my music to fresh ears. Though
the session has already been played, I am going to YouTube the footage
soon. Thanks and goodluck to those at ichannel, for I know they are
undergoing to some changes over there.
5. I have another show in
my hometown of Lawrence, KS! My new band will be playing again at The
Jazzhaus on May 22 @ 10 PM. We packed this place last month
and I expect it to be another all night dance party!
